Maya Beck Djevaguiroff

My name is Maya Beck Djevaguiroff, I was born in April 1966 in Paris, France.

From my very young age I was attracted by opera ballet and started dancing at the music and dance conservatory when I was 4 years’ old.

I studied English, German and international trade, first at La Sorbonne and then in a business school in Paris while continuing dancing and performing on stage, and later took part in ballroom dance competitions.

I worked in international business for 30 years, mainly in the aeronautics industry and I have travelled in many countries.

When I turned 52 years’ old, I decided I wanted to paint even though I had never tried nor did not know anything about drawing. Alexis, my husband, offered me a couple of paint brushes and watercolor tubes and encouraged me to give it a try. Since then I have been practicing again and again, improving myself every day, realizing how passionate I have always been deep inside about painting.
