Artistic approach
Classical ballet was my first encounter with the artistic world. I was a dancer at the conservatory from the age of 4. I have always had a passion for travel, both personally and professionally. At 51, I discovered watercolor by happy accident. I let myself be carried away by the whims of water and pigments on paper. Within me resonated the memory of dancers' movements and the desire to travel differently.
Sources of inspiration
Travels inspire me, in all their forms. I try to capture and suggest a moment, an atmosphere, a place, characters and tell a story by giving free rein to my imagination.
Materials and techniques
I have chosen the "loose" style, which means letting go, letting the magic of water and pigments operate, capturing the play of shadows and lights, telling the essence of a photo, suggesting rather than showing.
I work in several washes, on paper whose surface is created using natural wool felts giving a paper very pleasant to work with and durable over time. My color palette is limited, preferring to create mixtures myself, the important thing being to choose pigments remarkable for their brilliance, their transparency or their opacity.
Objectives and vision
Through my watercolors, I wish to invite to travel, both literally and figuratively. I aspire to suggest places and moments of life in which viewers can project themselves.
An evolving approach
My artistic approach is not fixed; it evolves with my experiences, my discoveries and my learning. Each watercolor is a step, a snapshot of my journey. I consider art as a space of freedom where I can experiment, fail, start again, succeed, surprise myself and invite all those who want to join my travels.
